Back in the mid-nineties, one of my favorite bands was The Breeders. I was so in to them. Their breakthrough album Last Splash was a fixture in my life for years.

Over time, they sort of broke up, one of the Deal sisters (Kelley) started doing heroine, Kim started The Amps, the Pixies got back together and then the Breeders reformed. Full circle, yay.

Now, Kelley Deal makes scarves. My understanding is that they are handmade, each one is unique and they are made from repurposed materials (like old sweaters, mostly). A few weeks ago, kingfuraday showed up wearing a particularly fetching scarf. He told me it was a Kelley Deal original. I was so jealous, and then I saw on Kelley's Twitter feed that she had some more scarves for sale. I got one!

It came with a signed note.



I wore it last night for the first time. Yay!

Oh! I just saw this. It's hard to tell, but it looks like his scarf is just like mine.

In between being a Breeder and knitting, Kelley also put out two albums as the Kelley Deal 6000. KD6K still gets put on repeat in my car for weeks and weeks.
