I had to really think about this one. I kind of listen to everything, so people generally aren't shocked if I say I like Public Enemy, Garth Brooks, Harry Nilsson, Michael Jackson, et al. But, I thought of a real doozy.
The American National Anthem. Seriously. It's a beautiful poem. I never thought much of it until I ran my first 10k. Before the race began, a little girl sang it a cappella, and it made me a little misty-eyed.
I like my country, but I'm not weird about it. Believe me, I'm no "America, love or leave it" or "these colors don't run" (blech) type of guy. I just think we have a cool national anthem.
