Just got here

I love riding my bike to work in the morning, but I'm a hot-ghetto-mess when I get here. My least favorite part is stuffing in to a tiny elevator with nice, clean cut lawyers. My favorite part is when people ask me about riding my bike to work. "Why, yes! Yes I do. You should try it some time!" Represent!

Once I get to my floor, I just need a few minutes to dry my head off, change, and sit in front of a fan. By 9, I'm golden.

Today, two of my coworkers came by my desk the moment I sat down. Grrrrrrrrr.

I am, and always have been, a wannabe. That's just how I roll.

At one point, I was a total wannabe Eric Clapton fan. Tears in Heaven is an absolutely beautiful and touching song, but beyond that, I couldn't name two others. I was only in to him because he had a cool nickname, "Slowhand", and he had awesome hair.

After the Rush soundtrack came out, I had big ambitions to buy all of his albums, specifically a monster box set called, I think, Slowhand.

Then, he came out with the Unplugged album. It had an equally heartbreaking rendition of Tears in Heaven plus a semi-ironic, acoustic version of Layla! Wow! I just though it was the bee's knees.

Ironically, I never actually bought any of his albums, including Unplugged, but I did learn Sunshine of Your Love and Cocaine one summer. (That's kind of a joke. Both songs have the exact same riff.)

A few weeks ago, we were in Dublin, and my old friend, semi-ironic-acoustic-Layla, came on. I guess I'm now at the age of not believing, because it couldn't have sounded lamer to me. Oof.
