I love it when dreams fail.

I went for a run this morning and I saw something that was very exciting!
Where do I begin?
Mark and I used to live in a house on Meade Ave, in a neighborhood in San Diego called Normal Heights. It was a simple, stucco house with a garage and an apartment in the backyard (Oh and carpeted floors, ew). Our initial landlord was pretty cool, but after a few years, he sold it, and the new landlord was terrible. It was his first rental, he had no idea what he was doing, he almost killed our cat, we had words, long story.
When I finally bought our wonderful paradise-of-a-home, we were so happy to A) not have a landlord anymore and B) live somewhere that was significantly less gross, inside and out. Hardwood floors, for starters. Yay!
Shortly before we moved out, as fate would have it, the landlord had stopped paying the morgage and the house was being foreclosed. We had dodged a bullet.
We had hoped that the new owner would fix up the place. After all, we can see it from our new backyard. Oh, did I mention our new house is right around the corner from our old house?
It is, here's a really stupid video of me walking from one house to the other. Watch it, it will kill your brain cells.
Well the place was apparently purchased by, I think, the owner's son, who is just as gross and wrong as his dad, and I'm going to go with, a drug dealer. Yay for my neighborhood! So, the place started to really rot, and all kinds of nonsense was always going on over there.
Fast forward to today, Eviction!!! There's a for sale sign in the window and everything. I love it when dreams fail.
I have high hopes for the place. Maybe our new neighboors will be rich, or cool, or both. Maybe they'll be guys like this!

By the way, that's a cool user pic. I like the visible iPod headphone.
