Buffy the Vampire Slayer was my favorite show ever, so when it ended after season 7, I was bummed. Reportedly, the show ended because Sarah Michelle Gellar wanted to do movies (Scooby Do, The Grudge <-- FAIL and FAIL).
But a few years ago, Joss Whedon, the creator of the Buffy-verse and avid comic fan, decided to continue the story in a much more freeing format: comic books. He calls it Buffy Season 8. I started to read the comics as they came out, but I couldn't figure out how to subscribe and I didn't go to comic book stores often enough to keep up, so I gave up after a few issues.
Fast forward a few years. I noticed all of the issues are available in 5-issue "trade paperback". Sweet. I ordered volumes 1 and 2. Season 8 will be mine at last!!!
