- It's selling for $265,000.
- It needs to be painted really badly.
- It has mildew, roof and foundation issues.
- The original hard wood floors were destroyed by the previous owner.
- I lived here from 1999 to 2009.

A year and half ago, Mark and I moved from this house to the house I bought around the corner. We couldn't get out of that place fast enough. It turns out the owner of the house had stopped making payments months before we gave our notice, so it was foreclosed as we were moving out. Whew.

We imagined a family or an investor would buy it and fix it up. Instead, someone that seemed to be the previous owner's son bought it. It quickly became what looked like a base for selling drugs or prostitution. Some scary people came in and out of that house for a while. But, eventually, new signs went up that said the house was foreclosed again. Suddenly, all of the scary people went away but the house continued to dilapidate.

This week, there's a new For Sale sign up, and people are actually interested in buying it. (Including a super-hot muscle-daddy guy I saw the other day. Just sayin'.)

On Sunday, Mark and I were having a nice breakfast in the backyard. The weather was perfect, and we were making the most of our morning.

While we were eating, we saw a real estate lady and a couple in their 60's go up the stairs to look at the apartment attached to the house for sale. They weren't in there long before we heard raised voices. Soon, the woman from the couple stormed out of the apartment, choking. When she got to the bottom of the stairs, she began vomitting.

I couldn't make out exactly what the real estate lady was saying, but she apparently was speculating about what went on in the apartment. I think I heard her say there may have been a dead body in the apartment at some point. What I predict is there were squatters living there with no plumming for a few months. Ech!!

This was pretty upsetting to us, but hopefully that chapter has ended. Our neighborhood generally isn't this bad, I assure you.

Part of the house hovers over our backyard, so we're hoping for the best. If it gets fixed up or torn down and replaced, I will be a very happy boy.
