Hello, Friend
Aug. 31st, 2011 07:20 amThe other night, I was doing laundry and I realized that we were out of detergent. Instead of driving to the grocery store, I went to "Hello, Friend".
"Hello Friend" is what we call the convenience store around the corner from my house. We started calling it that because the owner used to always stand behind the counter and greet customers with that phrase. It has come in very handy over the years. I can walk over and be back in minutes.

Instead of grabbing my wallet, I grabbed $7 that I had left on my shelf. When I got there, I grabbed a small bottle of Tide.
"That will be $9.88," the owner's brother said.
A little more expensive than I had predicted. I put it back and grabbed a much cheaper brand.
"This one's $4.50. Better for your budget, huh?" he said with a smile.
