Batman Arkham Asylum

I'm on to my next video game.

A new game just came out called Batman Arkham City, and it looks incredible, but I'm pretty burned out on buying $60 games that I wind up not playing.

Batman Arkham Asylum is the prequel to City, and since it's a few years old, it's much cheaper.  I picked it up used for Playstation 3 yesterday.

My next game

I played a little of it already, and it's great.  In the game, the Joker is taken to an asylum, but Batman suspects that he allowed himself to be caught tioo easily. Turns out he was right. The Joker set up a trap where he is running the asylum, letting inmates free. It's up to Batman to stop the Joker. The graphics are very cutting edge and the game play is fun and original.  Much like Portal, there's an emphasis on puzzle solving.  There's also an emphasis on stealth.  So, instead of running in to level after level with guns blazing (Force Unleashed 2), the game forces you to slow down.

Tonight is video game night. Woo hoo!

Winninnng! Literally.

I'm by no means a gamer, but I've been on a tear lately.

The other day, I beat Cut the Rope on my iPhone, and last night, I beat Star Wars : The Force Unleashed 2.

I bought it months ago, and played it a bit, then I kind of set it aside.  Months later, I decided to pick it back up, and I had it beat in no time.

My understanding is that the developers of this game ran out of funding, so the end was cut short significantly.  That's how it felt.  I was suddenly at the end of the game.  I remember Force Unleashed 1 going on for what felt like eternity.

The icing on the cake was my friend John's name showing up in the credits.  He's been working for Lucasarts for years now, so I figured I would see it.

I beat Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2, and my friend John appeared in the credits.

Up next: Portal 2
