Afternoon Delight
Earlier today, as a joke, somebody posted a link to this song.
Afternoon Delight - Starlight Vocal Band
Now, I had heard this song title before, exclusively as a punchline, but this was the first time I listened to the song.
Ok, yes, it's easy listening and is therefore inherently awful. But I can't help but feel like we've sort of lost this innocence and free-spirit feeling over the years. Maybe this is something we need to bring back.
The singers look so happy, and there's no trace of cynicism at all in their faces or their voices. They're just happily making noise together. I like it.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I also like having sex in the afternoon. :)

I don't hate the song, but it takes me back to a place I'd really rather not revisit. It has the capacity to make me very very sad.
Sex in the afternoon is a good thing, along with sex in the evening and the middle of the night. Mornings, not so much, but it's been known to happen now and then.

And I also agree about sex in the afternoon, evening, and middle of the night is awesome, and morning sex… not so much.

For the record, I like morning sex just fine!

Tom's contriubtion was Afternoon Delight covered in the style of Kraftwerk (obviously, he didn't want to cover something in the style of, well, himself). It's beautiful, and I can send it to you.
He recorded it under the name Silly German Accent. :)

Someone also did the most awesome, disjointed, early Sevs-like cover of Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town, which I still listen to.

The 70s...in cities like San Fran and NYC were wilder than today...It was the era of the sexual revolution and there was no such thing as protected sex..or AIDs for that matter
One big orgy was going on in the gay world

The innocence of having no idea what all that partying would lead to.

Wrong, wrong, wrong!
I'm no particular fan of "Afternoon Delight," but easy listening can be wonderful. How have we not had that conversation?
