America, Fuck yeah (pardon my French...)

I'm in New York right now. I feel just like Alicia Keys!

Layover for four hours, then I'll finally be on my way home to the best place on Earth, San Diego, CA. (619, represent)

When I got off the plane, I was very disappointed that [livejournal.com profile] njbearcub1 wasn't waiting at the gate to entertain us.

Quick note about all of Europe. They need to start having discount superstores like Target or Wal-Mart, stat. I needed headphones at one point, and it was like a quest for the holy grail.

Oh, and PS: Just wanted to say I'm really bummed out about Sam, Mr Mixmutt. Just like a lot of people, I didn't know him personally, but I really enjoyed his sense of humor. I'll miss his stuff a lot.

A) I didn't know you were flying in.

B) [livejournal.com profile] njbearcub1. Not [livejournal.com profile] nybearcub1

Ha ha. Close enough! I live on the West Coast. To me, everything beyond Arizona is one big state.

Ha! Its okay. I wish I *did* live closer to the city. I miss getting to meet so many people visiting the area, because it's not the quick hop, skip, and a jump to get into the city. On a good day with no traffic (and there are rarely those), it's about a 100-120 minute drive each way, plus tolls, gas, and parking. Then, figure that we're going to eat or drink while we're up there, and it can turn into a $100 hop/skip/jump quite easily.

Still, I would love for our paths to cross, eventually!

Oh wow. I thought it was closer than that.
Yeah, totally, on that last part!

We are smack in the middle of the state, almost exactly between Philly and NYC. Traffic headed towards or from either of them on a normal day is bad. Add in summer visitors (like our trip to Atlantic City last night), and it becomes horrendous, and you have to factor in driving delays, no matter what.

You should probably just move to San Diego, then!

Then, I'd never get anything done, because of all the people who live out there who I already know. I've seen it, and it's a fantastic life of pool parties, weekend days spent at The Hole or Pecs, trips to Disney...

Yeah Dude, Pecs, the Hole and D-land. Three wonderful places.

I have my fingers crossed that I'll be out there for Comic Con next year. Please don't be traveling that week, just in case.

It's on like Donkey Kong.

So, you're saying that you're hairy, are going to throw barrels at me, and that I would wear a cap and overalls?

Okay. Sounds pretty good.
