Music Meme - Day 29 (Jesus-y Edition)

Day 29. A song from your childhood

Growing up, my brother, sister and I went to a tiny, little private school. I think I've already mentioned that, but what I haven't mentioned was that every year, we would put on a big, ultra-religious musical. Virtually, the entire school would be in it, but only a few people actually had lines. Most of us were in the chorus.

Looking back, they were so weird! For a few years, we did plays about a bible with arms and legs called Psalty.

He would show up in town, with some kind of wild car (in our plays, it was an ATV with cardboard all over it), and teach the kids about... morals or something. In the sequels, Psalty had a bride bible and children bibles, because everyone eventually gets married and has 2.5 children, right? I can't believe I remember this, but the children bibles were named Melody and Harmony.

Rehearsals were awful. The dress code at the school was slacks and polo shirts, and we would sit outside in the sun for hours. I passed out once from heat stroke. My childhood was frikkin' awesome.

I did enjoy the music sometimes, though.

This clip is relatively new, but it's along the lines of what were up to back then. If you can get through the entire clip, there is something wrong with you, but you must hear the guitar solo around the 2:30 mark. Lightning licks!
