Bed Beard

I woke up this morning with total bed beard.



It's the Friday before a guaranteed-to-be-amazeballz-three-day weekend. I'm pretty happy. The weekend begins with dinner with Liz and jpinsd, followed by a show by these fine folks, The Dum Dum Girls:

Can we talk about Top Gun for a sec?

On a whim, I pulled up this badboy on Rhapsody. The Top Gun Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring Kenny Loggins's Danger Zone and Playing with the Boys. What a delicious 80's treat. As a kid, this was my first real, non-churchy album. My parents gave it to me along with a red walkman. That summer, I listened to it daily.

I never really got in to Culture Club, Duran Duran, Breakfast Club (god, I hate that "Don't You Forget About Me" song) or any of that stuff, so this is my 80's.

There are so many dated, hot mess moments on this one, including Kenny Loggins's fake British accent, the Top Gun theme by Steve Stevens, and of course, the song heard in the best cinematic moment EVARRR.
